IPCC’s Exercise in Self-Contradiction

24-Feb-23
Howard (Cork) Hayden, PhD
Abstract: This presentation uses intellectual jiu-jitsu. • It uses IPCC’s analysis and data against IPCC’s analysis and data. • With apologies to giants in our field (many at this conference), I ignore their better data because the jiu-jitsuparadigm requires sticking with IPCC data.

In Science, Data Trumps Theory
Correcting Errors in Science
24-Feb-23
Thomas P. Sheahen, Phd
Abstract:
  • Any Theory must conform to data or it will be dismissed
  • Feynman’s famous aphorism: -- It doesn’t matter how smart you are or how beautiful your theory is; if it doesn’t agree with experiment, it’s WRONG !
  • Data, not theory is the cornerstone of the Scientific Method.
  • This has been true for centuries.

Howard “Cork” Hayden, Prof. Emeritus of Physics, UConn, corkhayden@comcast.net
Abstract: First article: Giga, Tera, Peta, ExaFlops
The heading of this article does not refer to Broadway shows that failed. The mass of the sun is about 2,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 ...

    2nd article: Climate Models
To predict tomorrow’s weather, you begin with today’s weather and then apply laws of physics. Small uncertainties in the data lead to small uncertainties in the prediction for tomorrow, but larger uncertainties in the prediction for the next day.
